Creamy mashed sweet potatoes, rich maple syrup, and a buttery pecan topping come together for a dish that’s as beautiful as it is irresistible.


Ingredients
4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons maple syrup
Salt to taste
1 cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons brown sugar


Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F. Boil the sweet potatoes until fork tender, then drain and mash them until smooth. Stir in butter, cinnamon, vanilla, and two tablespoons of the maple syrup. Spread the mixture into a baking dish and set aside.

In a small pan, combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, and remaining maple syrup over medium heat. Stir gently until the pecans are lightly caramelized and coated in the syrupy glaze. Spoon the pecan mixture evenly over the mashed sweet potatoes.

Bake uncovered for about 20 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbling slightly around the edges. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
